I am the organizer, director, and host of the East End Race Series - a weekly paddlecraft race held at East End Beach in Portland, ME in July and August. Races range from 3 to 5 nautical miles (with beginner short course options on some nights), support Preble Street Resource Center in their fight to end hunger and homelessness, and are attended by folks of every ability level, and in every kind of seaworthy craft, including kayaks, paddleboards, surfskis, outrigger canoes, prone boards, and touring canoes. For more information check out the East End Race Series webpage.

I provide additional support to three flatwater races in the greater Portland area: The Royal River Rumble, Saco River Rebound, and Presumpscot Revival. I am an organizing member of Maine Coast Outrigger Canoe Club, and regularly compete in whitewater races as part of the New England Slalom Series, Maine Association of Canoe and Kayak Racers downriver series, and Maine Whitewater Championships. I am a member of the Southern Maine Sea Kayakers Network and Penobscot Paddle and Chowder Society paddling clubs.

I am also the organizer of Gulf of Maine Paddle Surfers, an informal group of kayakers, paddleboarders, and canoers who love surfing, whether it be beach break, down wind, or river waves!

In October 2025 we are partnering with the American Canoe Association, and Savannah Canoe and Kayak, to put on the East Coast Surf Kayak Instructor Bootcamp and Festival on Tybee Island, Georgia. Check out more details here!
